The taxonomy used on the SCAN-LepNet portal was initially established with ITIS names.
In 2016 we update the spider taxonomy using the World Spider catalog, so the spiders should be up to date with synonyms.
In 2017 Greg Pohl provided a complete update for North American (north of Mexico).
In September, 2017 we updated the Lepidoptera taxon tables with names from both GBIF and CoL.
